SACRAMENTO, CA—Assemblymember Mariko Yamada (D-Davis) made the following statement March 4 regarding the student protests at the State Capitol and the march by UC Davis students on Interstate 80:
“Today’s ‘Day of Action’ was the flashpoint for anger over the state’s disinvestment in education. Sacramento must listen — without prioritizing education, the future of California is at risk.
“To all those who’s favorite word is ‘No’ whenever we discuss the need for more revenue, the students have spoken, and we need to talk.”
