"The Flip Side of Yoshi's," a Japanese cultural extravaganza, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Yoshi's SF, 1330 Fillmore St. (at Ellis) in San Francisco.
The event will connect the ancient culture of Japan and the modern world, Eastern and Western cultures, and the spiritual and material worlds.
Demonstrations will include calligraphy, tea ceremony, chabana (flower arrangement for tea ceremony), taiko drumming, a kimono fashion show, and a spiritual dance by Yoshi Akiba, the jazz club's co-founder and namesake.
