Mitsunobu Kojimoto unexpectedly passed away in San Francisco on Oct. 25, 2009. He was 86 years old. Mits was born on Oct. 19, 1923, in San Francisco, to Kusujiro Kojimoto and Mitsu Nishitsuji Kojimoto. He graduated from Commerce High School, where he played varsity basketball.

When Executive Order 9066 was issued during WWII, Mits’ family was sent to the Santa Anita Assembly Center and then to the internment camp in Topaz, Utah. At age 19, Mits volunteered for the U.S. Army and joined the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, H Company.

Memorial services for Victor Nobuyuki Ito, a 90-year-old Stockton, Calif.-born Nisei resident of Gardena who passed away on Sept. 30, will be held privately.

Mr. Ito attended USC School of Pharmacy until he was forced to leave by Executive Order 9066 and was sent to the relocation camp at Rohwer, Ark. He later graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Class of 1944.

Served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII and in occupied Japan. After his honorable discharge he worked as a pharmacist at Thrifty’s for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed blackjack, dancing and golf.

Hiroshi was born in Penryn, Calif. on Sept. 13, 1920 and passed away at his home in Rocklin, Calif. on Oct. 11, 2009. He was 89 years old.

Survived by his wife of 56 years, Lily; sons Ronald (Debi) and Warren (Carolyn); four grandchildren, Sean, Laura, Michael, and Danielle Mikawa; sisters Reiko Matsushita and Etsuko Kohagura; brothers Ben Seo, Takayuki Seo, Akio Seo, and Kazuo Seo; 24 nephews and nieces, and numerous grand nephew/nieces and great-grand nephew/nieces.

Toshiko Nakai passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2009. Toshiko was born in Gardena, Calif. on April 11, 1916, and was a long-time resident of San Francisco.

A private family memorial service was held on Oct. 1, 2009.

At 76 years old, died suddenly of heart failure on Sept. 26, 2009. Survived by his loving wife Cynthia and devoted son Jon. Sho was a food service consultant and designer in San Rafael and an active member of the greater San Francisco Japanese American community.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Buddhist Temple of Marin, 390 Miller Ave., Mill Valley, CA 94941.
